Happy 24th Birthday!

I had a neat birthday. When I got up on Saturday morning, my padmates had decorated for me. It was really nice of them and I love them for it!

This is the wall in our study area. Cool!
And these are the presents and cards they made/got for me!
Luis took us to Gino's for lunch. It was a lot of fun. I really love this guy; he is turning into a super member!
This is Hermana (Sister) Calderon, my new comp. I'm not sure what you call what she had to eat, but it was NASTY!

And that was my birthday!

Easter at Oscar's!

Easter was a really great day! Got to watch conference... it was AMAZING! Of course it always is... and have dinner with Oscar and his family! Oscar treated me to Columbian sausages... My fav! I was so happy! I think I ate more than I should have, but I only get them once in a while, so I decided to live a little! We also had steak, chicken, rice, pasta, veggies, and pico de gallo. I am going to miss this spanish food!

Oscar and Erika had us for Easter dinner. It was great! Felt just like being with family!
Oscar at the BBQ doing his thing!
Keilly and me! Erika's little girl!
Ishanti came from Jamaica to spend Easter with me!

FINALLY! PICTURES!

Ever since Heather lost Sister Frodsham as a companion, there have been very few pictures; thus, the posts have not been as frequent or as detailed as they were when there were pictures. But Heather has finally sent more pictures, so here we go!

First: Montauk. This is sunrise at Montauk. The other missionary in the picture is Sister Montano.

Heather and one of the children in Bay Shore Ward. Heather loves purple... can you tell?

New york is a weird place. I've seen tagged stop signs before, but this one is really unusual.
Click on the picture to see the full-sized one and you can read what's there.

It's almost St. Paddy's day, and so Cowgirl Heather has found the right hat to wear! LOL!

Heather reports she only has two transfers (6 weeks each) and 2 weeks to go! WOW! Has the time really flown by, or what!??!?? It's wonderful that she is having such a great experience, but we'll be glad to have her come home.

Back to Bay Shore

In a recent letter, Heather said her Mission President called her in and said, "Sister Burton, we need you back in Bay Shore." So Heather is back where she started, with a brand new sister missionary, Sister De La Mare from Salt Lake City. They are working hard to get things going again in Bay Shore. All of her friends from her first stint there are delighted that she's back. Heather says that they are having success finding and revitalizing the investigators that she and Sister Frodsham had when they were a companionship.

Happy New Year!

2009 has come and gone and Heather is on the last third of her mission. She is in Midwood, Brooklyn, and loving it! She said that to celebrate New Year's she and Sister T ordered a chicken parmesan pizza "and ate nearly the whole thing!" She said that some of her ' "home girls" from Jamaica are coming to visit me :) Everyone can't believe that they are coming all the way to Brooklyn just to visit me... All I can say is... "Hello! Do you not realize I am the coolest Sister Missionary New York has!?!?" :)'
So things are good in Brooklyn to start 2010!

Transfer - Brooklyn Here I Come!

Heather was transferred to Brooklyn on December 8th. Her new companion is Sister Tauteoli who is a greenie. They are working hard to update the area records and build a new investigator pool.
